Duran Duran History: Bournemouth 1994

Today’s Duran Duran history takes us back 11 years to 1994 when Duran played at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, UK.  This was the final date in the Dilate Your Mind UK Tour.

Interestingly enough, the setlist, from what I could find, was very short as you can see below:

Too Much Information
A View to a Kill
Hungry Like the Wolf
Ordinary World
Skin Trade
White Lines
First Impression
Come Undone
Love Voodoo
Girls on Film

If you attended this show, did they really only play 10 songs?  How was the show?

Duran Duran History: Gottschalk Live

Today’s Duran Duran history takes us back 3 shorts years to 2012 when John Taylor and Simon Le Bon appeared on the German TV show, Gottschalk Live.  The show was filmed in Berlin.  During this time, Duran Duran were touring Europe as part of the All You Need Is Now Tour.

I did manage to find a clip of this show.  Simon and John come out at about 13 minutes in.  They talked about vinyl records, working with John living in LA, Duran’s audience and lots more.

What did you think of it?  Reaction to it?

Duran Duran History: Richard & Judy

Today’s Duran Duran history takes us back ten years to 2005 when the band was doing promotion for Astronaut.  On this date, Simon and Nick were interviewed on Richard & Judy (Channel 4) in the UK. From what I know, Richard and Judy are a married couple who had a number of different TV shows over the years in the UK.  In 2005, their show was in the format of a daily chat show that aired in the early evening.

This interview apparently has been included on the bootleg entitled “Astronaut Promotion 3”.

Has anyone seen this?  If so, please share some details!

Duran Duran History – The Vault

Today’s Duran Duran history takes us back to the turn of the millennium, to the year 2000.  On this date, The Vault:  00-22 broadcast in the USA featured Duran Duran.  What was the Vault you ask?  It is a radio show album that was produced by Westwood One that was then given to radio presenters.  Interestingly enough, it only had 6 tracks including the following artists:  Duran Duran, Limp Bizket, Hole, 311, Gin Blossoms, and Freedy Johnston.

What do you think of that combination of artists?

Duran Duran History – Sing Blue Silver

Today’s Duran Duran history takes us back 3 decades to 1984 when Duran Duran’s Sing Blue Silver premiered in the UK.  As we all know, Sing Blue Silver is the documentary covering the band’s tour of North America in that same year of 1984.  It is probably the best known of any Duran Duran DVD.

Here’s the entire thing via YouTube:
