I feel like the summer is flying by! How can it be the second half of the month of July? Isn’t it still June? What is happening? Please tell me that I’m not the only one feeling this way. Anyway, let’s take a look at Duran history during this week. Did it capture the summer feel or not?
July 18:
- Duran Duran played at Starwood Amphitheater in Nashville in 1987 as part of the Strange Behaviour Tour to promote their Notorious album.
- John Taylor attended premiere of the movie, Mi Vida Loca, in 1994. He provided the score for the movie. Has anyone seen that movie?
- In 2009, the band played at Lovebox Weekend in Victoria Park, London.
July 19:
- Duran Duran performed at McEwan Hall Ballroom in Calgary in 1982 as part of the Rio Tour.
- The Reunion Tour brought the band to the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in 2003.
- In 2016, Duran played at Apollo Theater in New York.
July 20:
- Duran Duran played at Prince’s Trust at the Old Dominion Theatre in London in 1983. It was one of their only shows during that year.
- In 2005, the band held a concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte.
- Duran Duran played at Arena Della Regina in Cattolica, Italy in 2012 as part of the All You Need Is Now Tour.
July 21:
- Power Station played at Reunion Arena in Dallas in 1985.
- Duran took part in a Star Motorcade and Handprint ceremony at Downtown Disney in Orlando, which was followed by a Q&A session with the fans in 2000. Anyone have any pictures or videos of this?
July 22:
- Duran Duran layed at the Fox Theater in St. Louis in 2005.
- The band, Queen of Japan, released their album, Headrush, which featured cover of Wild Boys in 2002. Anyone familiar with this cover?
July 23:
- Violence of Summer single was released in the UK in 1990.
- Mark Ronson debuted 30 seconds of Blame the Machines on East Village Radio Show in 2010. I remember being so utterly excited to hear these 30 seconds!
- The band appeared on cover of Billboard Magazine in 2015.
July 24:
- In 1993, the band played at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island.
- Hold Back the Rain was played to help the shuttle land in bad weather in 2001.
