Duran Duran History – Melbourne

Duran Duran history tidbit for today, December 10th: On this date in the year 2003, Duran Duran played at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Australia.  This was included in a series of dates played with Robbie Williams as his special guests during his tour of Australia and New Zealand.

As Daily Duranie recalls this date in Duran Duran history, these dates caused a bit of an uproar within the Duranie community because the shows were originally billed as Duran Duran and Robbie Williams as co-headliners, but in fact Duran Duran took more of a supporting band role to Robbie Williams. We’re pretty sure the mere mention of this could cause commotion within the community again…so we’ll leave it here and slowly back away from the keyboard…

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.
