Duran Duran History – Norwich

Who is ready for some Duran Duran history?! On today’s date in 1980…only about thirty-four years ago now (anybody feel especially young yet?!?) Duran Duran opened for none other than Hazel O’Connor during the Hazel O’Connor and Megahype tour in Norwich.

What’s fascinating is that even now, thirty-four years later, both Duran Duran AND Hazel O’Connor are still touring and doing their thing. Flash in the pan? I don’t think so!

Happy Thursday!

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.

  1. In reply to the line “… only about 30 years ago (anybody feel especially young yet?!?), I do feel young: musically the band in their early days sounded like few bands out now and musically they sound better than other few breakthru music acts out now that I find simply “absurd”.
Now it feels to me like being where they left off in the 80s which don’t seem like finishing.
