Since today is a national holiday here in the US, we are not going to do a poll today. We would just like to take the opportunity to wish you and yours the happiest day imaginable.
This year has certainly been different, and naturally we have no choice but to join the chorus of voices saying that we must do our best to remain thankful for all of the things we still have. That said, we are very aware of our friends and family who have lost loved ones this year, whether due to the pandemic or something else entirely. Our hearts and thoughts go out to each of you, and while those are obviously “just words”, we hope you feel the love coming from us to you.
Amanda, Jason and I are incredibly grateful to have a safe space with which to create and engage with other Duran Duran fans nearly every day. I can’t speak for them, but I can say that having Daily Duranie as a constant in my life has helped this year. It keeps me on a schedule, forces me to put into words what I sometimes struggle to even allow to come to the surface, and it even lets me sort out my own thoughts when I’m having a tough day. For me, this safe space is as much a journal as it is a place to convey news. That is what makes Daily Duranie different and special, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. We appreciate those of you who choose to read each day, once a week, once a month, or even those that only join us when a tour is happening. Thank you for allowing us to just be ourselves, without the insistence that we adhere to whatever persona you believe us to be. This blog, and every post within, is exactly who we are in that moment. Thank you for being here with us. Happy Thanksgiving.
