What a week! #Duranlive taking place for the first time in two years, hometown gigs, a Covid-rescheduled festival, and even another dedicated show happening! It’s good to see some sort of normalcy. As always, we like taking a look at what else they’ve done over the years. Let’s check it out!

September 19

  • Refurbished yacht, Drum is relaunched from the shipyard after capsizing. (1985)

September 21

  • Visits MTV Studios in New York to discuss possibilities of video (1981)
  • Finished filming Election Day (1985)
  • Performed at Now and Zen festival in San Francisco (2003)

September 22

  • Played Bayou Theater in Washington DC (1981)
  • Simon was on KIRO FM radio in Seattle (2011)
  • Played Orix Theater in Osaka Japan, “finishing” the Paper Gods Tour (2017)

September 23

  • Storytellers on VH1 premiered in US (2000)
  • John’s autobiography, In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death & Duran Duran released (2012)
  • Appeared on Ellen DeGeneres show (2015)
  • Internet remix of Electric Barbarella available for download. Came with a “hidden” website address to see the EB video. (1997
  • Storytellers on VH1 premiered in US (2000)

September 24

  • Friends of Mine Convention took place in New Orleans (2004)
  • Exhibition on Postmodernism took place at Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Featured DD’s music. (2011)

September 25

  • Performed at Le Club in Montreal (1981)
  • Played at Drammenshallen, Oslo Norway (1982)
  • John participated in an online chat on Rocktropolis site (1997)
  • Played at Grand Sierra Resort & Casino, Reno, NV (2015)

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog.
