On this date in 1983, Duran Duran’s third album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, was released worldwide. That’s right. It means that today marks its 31st anniversary. How about some fun facts on the album?

Now, why don’t you put it on for a spin?
-A

One of the best covers and some of the best graphic art around. Many of the symbols from this album are the most tattooed amongst fans. Still a favourite choice with Duranies today. This was the first album of theirs I bought immediately as it was released.
I was able to listen to this record entirely the first time only after my coma, back in 1997.
I think I was lucid and wise enough to have a deep perspective. Don’t get me wrong: all teens have their strong opinions on their albums, but when you are older and wise you see things at 360° degrees. Considering the particular moment I was (luckily) living in 1997, just 1997 to me is the year when the album was “released”.
I can’t remember I listened to it (entirely) in the 80s: I can remember I did to RIO, but not to this awesome album.
Happy birthday!
