Big News!

Welcome to Thursday, everyone! I hope you’re properly refreshed, and ready for another exciting day. I have just two items to share, and then I am off to wade through what I call “School Shopping with the Middle Schooler”. Wish me luck, I hope to make it out alive.

Duran Duran Appreciation Day 2020

While I am well-aware that there won’t be any in-person parties this year, I am extending an invitation to an online party that Amanda and I will be hosting on Monday, August 10th, from 12:00pm PDT (That would mean noon, or midday West Coast of America time) to 2:00 PDT. Just two hours, but on Zoom so that we’re able to see and hear one another! Wear your best Duran Duran t-shirt!! If you would like to attend, you’ll need to message us via our Facebook and/or Twitter pages so that we can send you the proper code. Nobody gets in without the code!

The plan is for hi-jinx, reverie, and chatting…all while watching videos that will be shared with your screens on Zoom. What exactly is on this playlist, you ask? Well, we are certainly glad you asked. Please share any and all Duran Duran-related YouTube video LINKS via Facebook and/or Twitter. Amanda will work to put together a playlist. She’s also given me instructions to inform you that if no one suggests any videos, it will be a solid two hours of John Taylor. No one wants that.

Wait. That really isn’t a threat at all, is it?

Please send your video link suggestions.

Seriously.

Hope to see you on Zoom this coming Monday! (Can you believe it’s already going to be August 10th?!?)

Construction Time

After much discussion, Amanda and I have come to the conclusion that it is time for a complete website refresh. At first, I’d hoped to keep the site up for the duration. After looking at all of the options, however, I’ve decided that the best and easiest way for it to be tackled, is by taking the site down for approximately one week. This will happen beginning this Friday (tomorrow), at around 8am PDT. There will be a construction page up for anyone who forgets, and I promise – it *will* be back online as quickly as possible. With any luck, and a whole lot of chants, cursing, possible sacrificial offerings, etc….we should be back up and running by the following Friday.

I don’t want to give any details away, but along with the site refresh, we’ve also agreed to some major changes with regard to content, and how we operate. After nearly ten years, it seems like it might be time to try new things, and all three of us (Jason included) are looking forward to the newest chapter.

With that, I bid you all a wonderful weekend!

By Daily Duranie

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.
