In My Bones

So, today is the day that I’m supposed to write something random about fandom. I’m going to take that to mean I can pretty much write whatever I want…and since I’m a fan….it’s random anyway….!!!

If you’re paying close attention, chances are that just the title of this very post itself will give it’s topic away. If not, that’s okay…I’m about to give it away anyhow!

Just this past week, those of us on Facebook were treated to a super sneaky peek and listen to a track from Dom’s new album titled “In My Bones”. Freshly stolen…I mean borrowed….from someone’s Instagram I follow…here’s the cover design:

I am not a doctor (let’s all thank the heavens for that!), but I have to wonder who the owner of the x-ray used for this design might be!

The album is out June 11th, but Dom told me (after I not-so-subtly whined about the length of time between now and June…. listen, it’s been a long pandemic and we’re not even done yet, am I right?!?) that the pre-release copies will be coming out “in a few weeks”. Given that he is not one of the members of Duran Duran, I’m a little bit more inclined to believe his line about a few weeks. We will see. Perhaps the dreaded “Durantime” hasn’t gotten to him yet!

If you haven’t listened to his little clip from “Mercury Ascending” on Facebook 4,000 times yet, you should go listen. (not that *I* have done that! I mean, just because I have the lyrics memorized….I mean, the ones that I could hear in the clip, anyway….)

Moving on…here’s the link to his video of Mercury Ascending! If you like it, let Dom know, and give him some love and encouragement!

After a day of seeing more than one post from DD with announcements of rescheduled shows, it is nice to see that at least some new music is going to be coming down the pipes. I just cannot wait for the day when this pandemic is behind us.

Happy Saturday!

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.
