Poll: How about those festivals?

For this week’s poll, we are getting serious. We want to know how you feel about FESTIVALS? If you want to know how Amanda and I feel about them, you should watch our upcoming Vodka Friday video on our dear, dear memories of experiencing the Voodoo Festival back in 2006, which will post on October 30th. Until then, let’s see your votes and be sure tell us your tales in the comments below!

By Daily Duranie

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.

  1. It depends. Years ago I used to attend Lollapalooza and I liked seeing so many bands I liked. This was back when it was a traveling festival and I was in my 20’s. Now I am almost 50 and festivals don’t appeal to me. This is especially true if there are a bunch of bands I don’t like. If Duran Duran was performing with groups like them (older acts) then that would be one thing but them performing in a festival with acts that are more modern or worse not even the same genre then yeah pass. At this point I would rather see one act I like (or a couple of acts I like) versus several acts where I like one act.

  2. I went for “love them but my body thinks I’m crazy”. More accurate would be, “used to love single day festivals when I lived in NYC where I could take public transportation”. My husband and I would bring one bag with whatever we needed & split carrying it, and when we got tired, nobody had to drive home. It was great! My multiple day festival experiences when I was younger than that were pretty much all bad, by comparison. Usually camping with friends in cheap tents, and I’d be bored out of my skull if there wasn’t a band playing I wanted to see because I was never hardcore into the other apparent point of festivals, getting blitzed out of ones mind. I think I’d enjoy it if I could get to the party in Ibiza, though. (I’m not.) It sounds more like a cruise than a festival. I’d be more than happy to sleep in, spend the day at the beach, hang out with people, eat delicious food, and then hit the evening’s entertainment each day.

  3. I’m not a festival fan. Nevertheless I have gone to two festivals to see DD. That said I think festivals are too much of everything and my brains just overloads
