Memorabilia Medley: 2021 Calendar

Recently, Duran Duran announced that there would be an official 2021 calendar. I know that there are many fans who love these and look forward to them each and every year. This year, though, I think it was in question since the band was unable to do much together, especially in an out-in-public sense. There were no shows. So, when DDHQ posted that there would be a calendar, people were excited. Here’s the message that went along with the announcement:

Big news – the Official Duran Duran Calendar 2021 is available to order Monday Nov 23rd .. Order asap and we will throw in some “2021 better smoke 2020” juju!

I appreciated the comment that early orders will include some “juju” that 2021 would be better than 2020. If they can do this, for real, I think all of us might buy, buy early and buy a lot!

So what does this calendar look like?

Quick glance at the images tells me that this will not be the usual Duran Duran calendar! It isn’t just posed photos of the band members. It is not filled with live shots of the band in action on the stage. No, this is much more about art. I, for one, am intrigued by each image. I can already tell that I will find myself staring each month while I try to understand exactly what is being shown and why. I love art that not only makes me feel but makes me think! This calendar will do just that. So, yes, I do plan on buying it. (I could also hope for some good juju, too!)

What about the rest of you? What do you think of it? Will you be buying?

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.
