Random Fandom: #LifeGoals

The other day I was flipping through photos on my phone in the quest to find some, temporary escape from the real world and my insane schedule when I came across this photo, this meme. I have no idea how long I have had it but it made me smile enough to save it and smile again so that I blogged about it. (By the way, I would love to give credit to the person who made it!)

This photo made me smile and I suspect that you all smiled as well. First of all, it reminded me of what life used to be like when concerts could happen, safely. Oh, how I wish that it was safe enough to go see some live music. Then, I adore the smiles on every single person’s face. Clearly, they are having the time of their lives. I can relate to this. Every single time I see Duran live, there is a point during the show that I say this to myself, “This is where I am most happiest.” The joy is pure and overwhelming. Every worry, every stress is blocked out. I bet the same is true for each person in this photo. Heck, these people are so happy that almost all of them are trying to capture it on their phones. The show, the artist means something to them.

This, of course, brings me to the one person who isn’t trying to record it, the old woman with her arms on the rail, claiming her spot. I would love for that to be me (in a few decades, thank you very much!). I want to go to shows until I am old and frail. I want to go to Duran shows until I cannot go anymore. Seriously, I think this is a good life goal! Let’s make it happen!

Once upon a time, there were two Duran Duran fans. One named Amanda, the other named Rhonda. Over many vodka tonics, they would laugh about the idea of one day writing a book about their fan experiences. While that manuscript is still being composed...Rhonda thought they should write a blog. (What was she THINKING?!) Lo and behold: The Daily Duranie was born.
